Terms of Use

The terms for using this site

These are the ground rules for using the GeoPoliticus website, the GeoForce Modernization Scorecard, and the content we publish. They're short. Read them once and they shouldn't surprise you again.

01

Acceptance

By using this website — reading content, submitting a form, taking the scorecard, or otherwise interacting with anything we've put online — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

02

Permitted use

You may use this site for personal or business purposes related to evaluating a possible engagement with us, reading our perspective, or staying current on our work. You agree not to:

Scrape, crawl at unreasonable rates, or mass-download the site. Attempt to access non-public areas (the preview gate, administrative endpoints). Impersonate another person or organization in a submission. Use the site or its forms to send spam, malware, or harassing content. Train AI models on our content, or re-publish substantial portions of our writing, without our written permission.

03

Intellectual property

Everything original on this site — the writing, the visual identity, the GeoForce Modernization Framework, the modernization scorecard, the diagrams, the case study language — is our intellectual property. "GeoPoliticus," "GeoForce," and "Modernization Framework" are marks we use to identify our work.

You may share links to the site, quote short excerpts with attribution, and cite our framework in normal professional discourse. You may not reproduce the framework or scorecard in your own offerings, white-label them, repackage them as your own methodology, or use them in a way that would suggest we endorse you. If you'd like to license something for a particular use, email us — we're reasonable.

04

Trademarks

"GeoPoliticus," "GeoForce," the GeoForce Modernization Framework, and our logo are marks we use to identify our own work. All other product names, company names, logos, and trademarks that appear on this site — including The Economist, Reuters, and Bloomberg — are the property of their respective owners. Where we name or display them, it is solely to identify genuine press coverage of work our principals were involved in. That use is nominative and editorial, and does not imply that those organizations endorse, sponsor, are affiliated with, or are partners of GeoPoliticus Advisors LLC.

05

What you submit

When you submit information through the contact form, the scorecard, or by email, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use that information for the purpose you submitted it — responding to your inquiry, delivering your scorecard PDF, following up about a potential engagement. We don't claim ownership of your submission, and we don't use it for any other purpose without your permission.

Don't submit information you don't have the right to share. Don't submit confidential client material, privileged communications, or trade secrets through a public form — if your inquiry needs to be confidential, email us directly and we'll route it through a secure channel.

06

No professional advice

The content on this site, including the GeoForce Modernization Scorecard and any results it produces, is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not legal, financial, accounting, tax, medical, or any other form of regulated professional advice.

The scorecard is a self-assessment tool. It produces a tier classification based on the answers you give it. That output reflects patterns we've seen across organizations — it's a starting point for a conversation, not a substitute for one. Your situation has context the scorecard can't see.

07

No engagement created

Submitting a contact form, taking the scorecard, or corresponding with us about a potential project does not create a consulting engagement, an attorney-client relationship, or any other contractual relationship. An engagement with GeoPoliticus exists only when we've signed a written agreement together. Until then, anything you share with us is informal and exploratory, and either of us can decide not to proceed for any reason.

One of our principals, Amy Lynn (Aly) Kedron, holds a JD. She is not actively engaged in the practice of law through GeoPoliticus Advisors LLC, and nothing on this site or in any conversation with her in her capacity as a GeoPoliticus principal constitutes legal advice. For specific legal questions, consult an attorney licensed in your jurisdiction.

08

Case studies & testimonials

Case studies and outcomes described on the site reflect actual engagements, sometimes with details altered or anonymized to protect client confidentiality. They're representative of the kind of work we do. They are not a guarantee that your engagement will produce comparable results. Results vary based on factors specific to each organization.

09

Disclaimer of warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." We try to keep it accurate and online, but we make no representations or warranties of any kind — express, implied, or statutory — about the site, its content, or its availability. We disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GeoPoliticus Advisors LLC, its principals, and its contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, business opportunity, or goodwill arising from your use of (or inability to use) the site or any content on it. If despite this we are found liable to you for anything related to the site, our total liability will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law — including, in some jurisdictions, liability for gross negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct.

11

Third-party links

The site may link to third-party websites — case study sources, our LinkedIn, our service providers. We don't control those sites, and a link doesn't mean we endorse them. Their content, terms, and privacy practices are theirs.

12

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted at this URL, with the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged at the top of the page for at least thirty days. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

13

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith discussion will be submitted to the state or federal courts located in the District of Columbia. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain in force.

These terms are written to be readable rather than maximally defensive. If anything is unclear, reach out through the contact form — we'd rather explain than rely on legal fog.
